Using other client, or own?

Yes it is possible to create your own Client, the server uses the Atlas protocol and will negotiate a connection with any client or any server that communicates using that.
It is possible to tell Ember to automatically connect to given server and not display a server list, if you open ember.cfg with a text editor there is a line in the metaserver section for that. This currently only works for servers using the standard port 6767. -
Hi, as Dean said you can easily tell Ember to automatically connect to a specific server, without using the server list. This is done by altering ember.cfg.
In addition to that, the Atlas protocol is completely open and we provide a number of different clients, Ember just being one of them (albeit the one currently in most active development). You're free to fork any of the clients and provide your own additions to the code.
